Housestock Music Festival

Leading up to the first sunny Saturday of Summer 2026, a Partiful notification got sent out to the live music-minded denizens of the greater DMV area, alerting them of an ambitious DIY project with the spirit that hasn’t been observed in the festival scene since Michael Lang’s original Aquarian Exposition many moons ago:

“Jealous of your grandparents who got to take the ultimate counterculture pilgrimage to Rome, NY in 1969, and see Baez, Joplin, The Grateful Dead, and Jimi Hendrix all play? Don't fret (or miss out), cause now it's Housestock!

Rock and Roll, Peace and Love, and Sophie & Noah's new crib, all in one place. We just moved into our new home and to celebrate the fact we now have a backyard and no HOA, we're throwing a music festival! We are teaming up with our friends in 3 of our favorite local acts to keep the tunes rocking all day long, so you can tell your kids in the future how they missed out on the best Fest there ever was.

For all you Shredders we've got Leannán-Shi ready to melt your faces, for the Chillers we've got Moondog Revival with the Dad-Rock classics, and for the Ravers when the sun goes down, we've got CR1MP & DRLNG spinning the decks till the USB catches on fire, and feel free to tip your band friends. Come ready to eat, drink, boogie, and dress like you would have if you were alive when the Beatles were our age!”

Housestock was a single day of Friends and Music, but it represented more than just a backyard party to commemorate a housewarming. It encapsulated the dream of combining thematic branded Creative Direction and Photographic Storytelling, a love for hosting and putting on a great event for friends and family to enjoy, and the drive to make it happen all on your own, into a kick-ass festival full of lore that will live on in the hearts and minds of attendees for years to come, just like the original that it aimed to honor. Minus the mud and burning down of the stages in ‘99 of course, we focused more on the “Peace & Love” parts.
